Night (An Original Poem by me, written when I was 13)

Darkness, blackness that you can’t see.
What roams the night when people sleep.
Creatures of the night scream at the moon.
One lonely creature sits down to weep.
The night has its own current,
that no human has ever felt.
The smells, sounds, sights that the creatures know,
only I have known when the night and I melt.
I know the darkness that everyone feels.
That part of everyone that no one will ever see.
The deep down part of everyone
that belongs to one alone, the one alone is me.
I know of your pain and sorrow.
I feel the pain and sorrow you suffer way down deep.
You don’t cry or even make a sound.
Why don’t you sit and weep?
So I cry for you and your pain and sorrow.
I am the creature and I give you this plight.
Give all your suffering to me and you won’t feel anymore pain,
for I am the creature of the night.

Cat Captions…#1

RJ and SJ: "There's no food in our bowls. Oh wait."

The boys, usually just SJ, always sit in front of their food bowls waiting for me
to pour them food when there is already food in the bowl. Such silly kittens they are.

RJ: "I will get you, fish."

RJ loves the fish. If he didn’t mind water, he’d be swimming in there chasing the fish.

SJ: "When you don't look, I'll eat the waffles."

The constant struggle…my cats versus me, who will win the food.

RJ: "Mama! This bubble wrap is so FUN!!"

I bought a new office chair and the boys were having a blast playing with the
box and with the bubble wrap and other stuff from inside.

SJ: "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!"

One of SJ’s favorite places to sleep is on the “bath mat” (a towel at this time).

SJ: "Awww, mama. You woke me up."

The problem for SJ sleeping in the bathroom is he gets woke up when
the lights go on. (Side note: his eyes aren’t normally like that.)

There is a Leak In My Head – Original Poem by Melissa Woessner (my sister)

There is a leak in my head-

A dominance that has turned as blunt as red.
But I will strain my muscles against my bones
Doing everything I need to do to keep myself bold.
Because life is an everyday thing.
And You can’t just expect to grow stupid wings.
So I tried digging below and found nothing like gold
But I find that this ache is just as alive down below
as it is above with means to hold.

And I can’t listen to the words
But I can feel them.
And I can’t read the words
But I can hear them.

Because sometimes my leak slips into the air.
Pours all over the floor, and I can’t cleanse the stain without making more of a flare.
The evidence all over my shirt
Everyone sees the truth of my dirt
And letting in another for support
Guilts me with a hint of bleach I can’t abort.
When I release some of my color and print it on anothers face.
It Leaves more scars on the minds I try to not taint.
And I can’t help but feel I have been always stalked by a evil that wants the end of me.
Feeling isolated in a sea of clear color where everyone can see.
And being the metaphor of a giant scene.
Voiceless and feeling exstremely weak.
But I have a strong voice
And I can’t sing.
But I can make the notes bleed
With passion into the heart of a cold stream.
That awakes the waves into a dance with a life of compassion and dreams.

But I am not alone in this colorless water
With the lives that swiftly swim around me without falter
Some intersecting with mine
Some glide away entwined
Some dip into your soul
Some steal a chunk that makes you whole
And some replace what you need to float.

And Enemies will speak of the regret they seep.
Because lies often surface within time of being hidden and kept underneath.
But all I ask is what am I to do with this leak in my head?
Is it my soul is finally dead?
Should I feel guilt with the words that crave escape?
Maybe then my head might not have this fricken ache.

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes, Part 1

These posts will be detailing the sayings of my 7 year-old sister, Madysen (or other children). Don’t kids say the darndest things?!

While visiting my apartment the other night, I fed Maddy a clementine which she really enjoyed. She had a lot of problems pronouncing the name and then remembering it.

Maddy (holding a clementine): “What are these?”

Me: “They’re called clementines.”

Maddy: “Mentines?”

Me: “CLEMentines.”

Maddy: “Oh. Clementines.”

Me: “Exactly. That’s a hard word. You can also call them Cuties (the brand name).”

About half an hour later…

Maddy: “Can I have another one of those?”

Me: “Another what?”

Maddy: “Cutie pies?”

Another half an hour or so later…

Maddy: “I want another of those………orange balls.”

Job

I love my new job. It’s flexible and I love that because I can work whenever, go places whenever, be there for friends and family when they need me whenever. I love that it pays well, especially considering it’s the best that I have been paid in my 10 years of employment. I can work from home while watching tv or listening to music and I would have to say that is one of the best perks. I can start to pay off my large pile of debt with the money from this job, which makes me love it even more. Not to mention the fact that I can work as many hours as I want, just another way to pay off more bills.

Although there are many good things about my job, I wonder if the good things are bad. I wonder if I’m trying to work myself too hard, too much, to earn even more money so I can pay more things off, or buy the few “treats” I let myself buy. I don’t want to miss opportunities to see things. I don’t want to miss time with my friends and siblings. I don’t want to not allow myself to enjoy some time away from work, playing a game or just not working. I feel like, because I can work as much as I want, that I have to work as much as possible. Anytime I’m at home, I’m working. I feel like I shouldn’t take myself away from work to sit in a warm bath, or sometimes even to clean my apartment. I just can’t see a way to know when it’s too much. I just want so badly to be debt free (minus student loans). That feeling would be so wonderful, but what if I can’t enjoy it because I’ve overworked myself? How do I find answers?

One day a massive ship comes to reclaim EVE, but WALL-E, out of love or loneliness hitches a ride on the outside of the ship to rescue EVE. The ship arrives back at a large space cruise ship, which is carrying all of the humans who evacuated Earth 700 years earlier. The people of Earth ride around this space resort on hovering chairs which give them a constant feed of TV and video chatting.
